Summer
I only have 2 more weeks this summer when i work a full 5 day week (July 30th & August 27th).
To say i’m looking forward to these next 2 months would be an understatement.
Hangover Help (actual science-y facts) →
Some stuff seems like common sense, but when you put it all together visually it sinks in better. check it out.
McDonalds real burger vs photo shoot burger →
A video by McDonalds attempting to educate the public about how similar their recently purchased Quarter Pounder is to one produced in a photo shoot for their advertising.

Basketball GM for the technology age →
It’s an interesting look at new custom software a basketball GM has put in place to try and make his team better.
I know it’s the Charlotte Bobcats who won 7 games last season, but it’s this kind of thing that i like about young forward thinking people. using technology to help make a job as subjective as pro sports better is where i thought we’d have gone more than a...
Vacation USA
Ok. So we sorted out the whole vacation thing and decided to take Charlie to Minneapolis for a few days this August (5-9th). A visit to some of our favorite US restaurants, shopping, and possibly a zoo visit. But mostly to get away from work for a few days. I do enjoy Minneapolis.
In related news, I’ve added 5 long weekends to this summer as well.
A much needed 2 months of short weeks, a...
2012-13 Jets schedule
Today is one of those days that NHL season ticket holders look forward to, the release of the schedule for the upcoming NHL season.
It’s interesting to see what teams the Jets will be playing and when. although it’s difficult to scan the list of games and see some of the teams that are not going to be coming to Winnipeg this year. There are some annoying inclusions and exclusions.

Sleep
Last night was the first night that Charlie slept through entirely. He slept from 11pm all the way till 7:30am.
This makes me happy.
Professionalism
I am content with everything except work right now.
I wish when people went to work everyday they at least tried to be a bit professional. Like for instance, being emotional at work doesn’t get you anywhere. I know it takes a little bit of effort, but at least try.
Y’know, this is another one of those things that no one tells you in school (at any level). A lot of people in the...
Vacation...
Ha ha… no i’m not taking a tumblr vacation already. relax.
i’m just sitting here debating whether or not to take a bunch of long weekends this summer or to take a full week off.
gonna make the call pretty soon.
leaning towards long weekends.

Tiered TV
I think there is a two tiered TV system out there right now, speciality American channels vs everything else.
The reason i say this is because we recently switched out a few channel packages for some American specialty channels and we’re realizing how poor our national programming is. (that includes basic US stations as well)
HBO and AMC are pumping out really interesting original shows.

Kings
Well, i’m glad it’s over. good for the Kings. anytime a franchise wins it’s first Stanley Cup i think it’s good for the league.
Bettman must love this for his southern hockey dreams.
Even though it won’t really change how indifferent they are about hockey in the southern US.
I’m also glad Quick won the MVP. Dustin Brown was good, but they easily could have...

SCF
Ohh, uh, that’s [SCF] Stanley Cup Final for those who may not know. I tuned into last night’s game #4 with three and a half minutes left, and from what i heard i’m glad i waited until the game actually got somewhat interesting.
NJ likely postpones the inevitable.
I don’t remember the last time i failed to watch the entire playoffs all the way from start to finish…...

Advertising/Marketing
is a pretty cool industry for those who aren’t in it, but for those who are…
it’s shitty.
or at least from my perspective, right now.
